Hello World

Let's get this party started!  This blog will chronicle my new electric car project, a restored classic VW Beetle!  I decided I was getting tired of my old car, a 2001 Porsche Boxster, especially as gas is over $4/gal now.  Oil is currently at $125/barrel and climbing, and it's pretty clear to me that it's time to go electric.

Here's the donor (and the recipient) VW.  It's not much to look at now, but my electric shop owns it, and it's already got an electric transmission.  That's a fiberglass front-end that will have to be replaced, but it's certainly restorable.
